BORDEAUX, SON HISTOIRE

AGING IN OAK BARRELS

Aging in oak is part of the great tradition of Bordeaux wines, and requires patience and expertise. Baron de Lestac is aged in oak barrels for at least six months, with a view to achieving the best quality for each successive vintage. Length of aging is a key factor in achieving a balance of subtlety and character.

The long aging process leads to an elegance rarely seen in this AOC. In contrast to wines matured in tanks, Baron de Lestac’s oak aging emphasis its wide range of flavours and paves the way for its subsequent bottle aging. The oak barrels impart a rich tannic structure and pleasing flavours of vanilla.
